Help us Remodel!
Lents campus remodel
Our entire village came together and generated $3.3million in just five months to purchase this campus that will shelter 26 families at a time in private rooms, expand our homeless prevention and life skills programs, and has room to develop affordable housing units in the future. Right now, PHFS is working to remodel our new campus so we can welcome families by the end of spring.
With this remodel, PHFS is redefining what it means to provide shelter to homeless families in our new Lents campus. Research shows that using trauma-informed architecture and design help people heal through the crisis of homelessness and lead to better outcomes - shorter shelter stays and greater success moving into housing. We are designing both the interior and exterior using these design principles. We are the only family shelter in Oregon implementing trauma informed design and architecture, and we are eager to create a space that builds dignity, restores power, and promotes autonomy for the families who stay there.
We still have a long way to go and we need your help!
Make a sustainable investment in the families staying at our new Lents Shelter by adopting a room! Your support will provide everything our families need to stay happy and healthy while they are guests at our shelter. There are opportunities to sponsor everything from the garden to the basketball court, and the computer lab to the living rooms in the day shelter. Adopt-a-Room is a three-year commitment and your contribution can be divided over that time.
