In-kind donations help provide our families with everything they need to stay healthy and happy while they are guests at our shelters, and assist them in the process of overcoming barriers and securing permanent housing. They’re a crucial part of our support system and we couldn’t support our families without them.
Over the summer, PHFS is working to remodel our new Lents Campus so we can welcome families this fall. We are focusing on trauma informed space design and color palette, and our driving principles are to build dignity, restore power, and promote autonomy.
Research shows that shelters with trauma informed architectural and interior design actually help people heal through the crisis of homelessness and lead to better outcomes for the people who live in shelter.
Because of this, we are making sure all of our furniture, linens, and kitchenware match our trauma-informed design. As such, we will only be able to accept donations of new items that match our trauma informed color palette. Learn more about trauma-informed design!
