Brandi grew up in Coral Springs, FL and attended the University of Florida (Go Gators!); she has degrees in Political Science & Philosophy and a minor in Organizational Leadership for Nonprofits. In 2005, Brandi moved to Portland and began working at the Oregon Hunger Relief Task Force conducting in anti-hunger public policy and outreach for federal nutrition programs. In 2007, Brandi founded Portland Homeless Family Solutions and has worked as the Executive Director ever since. Some of Brandi’s favorite parts of her job include leading a staff of 25 amazing people, fund raising, strategic planning, and building community partnerships. Brandi received the 2009 Skidmore Prize for Nonprofit Service, the 2010 Bank of America Local Hero Award for her leadership in social services and the 2013 WVDO Crystal Award for Executive Fund Raising. In her spare time, Brandi loves to hike and backpack throughout the Pacific NW with her dog Wookie Bear, and she stays active through running and yoga. Brandi loves to read and has been part of an all-women’s book club since 2008. She’s a vegetarian who is obsessed with organic food and healthy living. And Brandi loves listening to indie rock music and going to see live music.
